The music on this cd was taken from two separate vinyl LPs, Killoran's was released in 1977 and Morrison's in 1978. Sligo's Morrison has cast a long shadow over fiddle playing in this country and countless playes credit his 78 recordings as their main influence. Killoran was born in Ballymote and travelled to the States in 1925. He ran a bar there and formed a popular band The Pride of Erin Orchestra. He began recording in the 1930's. |
